How to Check Your Child’s PLE Results on Your Phone
The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has officially released the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results, bringing clarity to the academic futures of thousands of candidates. Here is how you can access your child’s results easily using your phone.
SMS Service
The easiest and fastest way to access the results is through UNEB’s SMS platform. Follow these steps:
Type an SMS:
Enter "PLE" followed by a space.
Add your child’s full index number. For example: PLE 003301/368.
Send the message:
Send the SMS to 6600. This service is available across all telecom networks in Uganda.
You will receive a reply with your child’s results within seconds.
Online Access
For those who prefer online options, UNEB has promised to provide a platform where results can be checked digitally. However, as of now, an official link for online access has not yet been provided. Keep an eye on UNEB’s website and social media platforms for updates.
School Portals and Printed Results
Schools can access results through official UNEB portals. Printed copies of results will also be distributed to District, City, and Municipal Inspectors of Schools for collection. Parents can liaise with their child’s school for physical copies.
Live Streaming and Social Media Updates
The release of the PLE results was broadcast live across UNEB’s social media platforms and the Ministry of Education and Sports' official channels. This offered a transparent and informative approach to unveiling the results.
Improved Performance in 2024
This year’s results show an improvement compared to 2023. The pass rate increased to 91.8% from 88.0% in 2023, highlighting the hard work of students, teachers, and parents. A higher proportion of candidates passed in Division 2 and above, although there was a drop in Division 1 entries.
Registration Trends and Special Categories
Gender Participation: Of the 797,444 candidates, 52.5% were girls, and 47.5% were boys, maintaining a recent trend of higher registration by girls.
Special Needs: UNEB registered 3,328 learners with special needs, marking a 25.5% increase from 2023.
Prison Candidates: Inmates from Uganda Government Upper Prison (Luzira) and Mbarara Main Prison also participated, reflecting the growing inclusivity of education.
